Research and Professional Experiences


1. Research and Development Associate (Robotics Association Nepal) (Current)

I currently work as a mechanical engineer at Robotics Association Nepal (RAN). My focus is on research and development of newer robotic applications which can be applicable for Nepal. My focus is on designing mechatronic components and 3D printing.


2. Teaching Assistant/ Part-time Faculty of Instruction (Current)

Instrumentation and measurement lab for second year undergraduate classes of autonomobile engineering and mechanical engineering. Mechanical Drawing I (Electronics Engineering - 1st year). AutoCAD applications( Automobile Engineering- 2nd year)


3. Team Shireto- Autonomous Division

Team SHIRETO is a startup project at Thapathali Campus. The team works on research and development of electric vehicle catered for the nepalese transportation requirements and regularly participate in the events organized by SHELL. The autonomous division was created to study the applications of Artificial Intelligence and control systems to make the electric vehicles autonomous. I led this division from 2021 to 2022 which consisted of other 4 students. We mostly studied the path optimization for mobile robots and computer vision technologies. Execution of our work was mostly limited to simulations in ROS and MATLAB due to financial constraints.



4. Novel Fuzzy Logic controller With Acceleration as an Input Variable

This research was the part of my Final year project which was a requirement for my Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. The research was supervised by Mr Subodh Kumar Ghimire who is the former Head of Department of the Mechanical and Automobile Engineering Department. This research studied the inclusion of motor acceleration as an input variable (along with angle and velocity) for a Fuzzy Logic Controller. This study was Novel in a way that it studied the affects of inclusion of the acceleration variable for a 3 DOF spatial robot manipulator. This study also studied and compared the performances of the FLC with the PID controller in situations of external vibrations and sensor noise. The work was presented in the thesis' Comparative Analysis of Fuzzy Logic and PID controller for trajectory control'



5. Optimization for EV Charging Station for Kathmandu (Current)

This research is being done under supervision of Dr Khem Gyawali, Campus Chief of Thapathali Campus. This research is being done under the umberella of energy laboratory of Thapathali Campus. The research studies the electric bus choices and the optimization of the placements of charging stations inside Kathmandu valley. My responsibility in this research is more in programming and optimization using python. We are working on developing and solving the optimization problem in python. I am working on data analysis and visualization and in linear porgramming.



.6 Junior Design Engineer at Darshan Engineering consultancy

Darshan Enginnering Consultancy is a private company specializing in consultation of hydropower projects. They have been involved in numerous major projects of Nepal. I worked as an intern for a period of 6 months during my undergraduate degree. My responsibility included assisting the senior engineers in drafting and in research and survey. Later, I was hired as an employee and I worked there for around six months after my graduation. I worked as a Junior Design Engineer. My responsibilities included drafting and research on hydropower control systems.


7. Intern at Nepal Government's Heavy Equipment Division

Nepal Government's Heavy Equipment Division is under the supervision of Ministry of Transportation and it specializes in maintainance and repair of government vehicles ranging from motor cycles to heavy equipment vehicles such as Dozers. My job as an intern was to assist senior engineers in repair and maintaincance of the vehicles, especially in issues related to sensor failures and malfunctions. I mostly worked on control systems of the automobiles.
